Through The Eyes of a Child- Summer Funnies

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a “Through the Eyes of a Child.” It’s not for lack of inspiration, that’s for sure. My three and a half year old keeps me laughing through most of my days!

Here are two of his most recent funnies:

**We were headed to a splash park the other day and I was getting a bag together. Lucas said, “Mom, don’t forget the sun scream!”

**If you’ve seen me in person (and in some photos), you know that I have a lot of freckles. I have very fair skin and despite liberal sunscreening (or sun screaming), freckles still cover my face and shoulders. Lucas inherited my fair skin (poor child) and I am crazy obsessive about putting sunscreen on him. Despite my own best efforts, he has a couple of freckles on his nose. I must admit, they are CUTE, but I hope he doesn’t end up looking like me.

Anyway, I completely digressed there. The other day, Mike and I were talking about my freckles, Lucas’s freckles, and freckles in general. During this conversation, I expressed my hatred for my freckles. For the millionth time, my husband assured me that he loved them and thought they were cute. He added, “I think they are hot.”

Our little eavesdropper heard this, absorbed it, and went about his business. About an hour later, Lucas came up to me and asked, “Mom, can I touch your freckles?”

I gave him a curious look, but said, “Sure.”

He put his pointer finger on my nose and touched my freckles.

“Ouch,” He exclaimed, waving his hand back and forth dramatically.

“What?”

“Your freckles are really hot, Mom.”

Yes, yes they are, my child.
