We had a refreshing, beautiful, blessed Easter! What a difference a few days away can do for your soul!
We traveled to Georgia to visit Mike’s aunt, uncle, and cousins. It has become our Easter tradition (when possible) and we always have such a lovely time. We left early in the morning on Good Friday and arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon. This was the first time we’d traveled that far with both kids so a 6 hour trip turned into nearly 8 and a half hours. A teething baby and a little boy who needed to go potty made for an interesting drive, but they did great, all things considered!
On Saturday, one of Mike’s cousins came over with his wife and kids. We decided to get out of the house to do something fun! His cousin mentioned a nice nature preserve/ recreational facility nearby where we could hike up a small mountain. He said the trail wasn’t too bad, so the whole family came along. Lucas was a trooper most of the way up and we took turns carrying Caroline.
It was so refreshing being outside and taking in the beautiful woods and mountain view. What better place to feel the love and power of God?
The weather was the perfect (in my opinion). It was just warm enough with the sun to feel good (but not get all sweaty), which made the hike even more wonderful! As we were surrounded with beautiful nature, I was reminded how important it is to get the whole family outside sans electronic devices! No one was checking their cell phone, no one had an iPod, nothing! Just what the doctor (and God) ordered!
We had a great time and enjoyed being with family that we don’t get to see very often. It was so nice to get away for a few days, especially to a place where I didn’t have access to a computer.
How did you spend your Easter weekend?

As my husband is a pastor, we were in town until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday when we headed south to my parents’ house for dinner and the evening. We came back today so I could make Women’s Bible study tonight.
Oh yes… there was also the Good Friday ER visit (Daniel had a febrile seizure) but that’s another story.
That looks like such a fun hike! Cute family picture!
We visited my family and my husband’s family for Easter and had a great time. I hope your knee is feeling better!
Wow, gorgeous! And I love that pic of the two dads from behind
